Joe Cummings has published over 40 reference books on travel and the arts in Southeast Asia and is a renowned authority on Thailand.

Joe originally came to Thailand to study Buddhism, and later researched Southeast Asian art history and Thai language for a master’s degree at the University of California at Berkeley. He has written over 40 books on countries in Asia and North America, along with titles on Buddhist art and architecture, Thai design and other related topics. Some of his best-selling books include Buddhist Temples Of Thailand (with Dan White, published by Marshall Cavendish), Buddhist Stupas in Asia, Lanna Renaissance, Burmese Design & Architecture and Chiang Mai Style.
